Silver Cross started producing their world first prams in 1877, right up to the present day, parents have trusted them to help give their babies the best start in life.
The Silver Cross USA Collection features a range of handmade coach-built prams and dolls prams. These masterpieces of design are still made in England to the same exacting standards that they have been for 136 years.
From the very first Silver Cross pram built by William Wilson in 1877 to the latest Balmoral pram, nothing but the utmost care and quality has gone into every one. Quite simply, the ultimate baby carriage.
The Silver Cross story began in 1877 when British inventor and engineer William Wilson developed an innovative spring system and reversible hood, which he combined into a design for the first modern pram that we all know today. William was a prolific inventor and by the turn of the century had many patents and designs in production.
Royal Appointment
By the turn of the century Silver Cross was a major manufacturer of high quality prams supplying the Royal family including King George VI and later Queen Elizabeth II.

Kensington Pram
Handmade in England, the Kensington pram is the other full size newborn pram in the USA Collection. The high polish hard body can be removed from the chrome chassis, and the chassis folded down to a smaller size. The Kensington pram has the same beautiful fine line detailed finish as the Balmoral, and the all-round suspension delivers an incredibly soft ride for your newborn baby.
Chatsworth Dolls Pram
One of our unique handmade dolls prams, the Chatsworth is suitable for children of 3 years and upwards and features all of the beautiful craftsmanship and high quality finishing of our full size classic prams. Chatsworth also features a gorgeous ceramic plaque on both sides of the high polish body, depicting either a rose, a poppy or a daisy.
