Nancy Horvath, Buyer Children’s Apparel and Accessories, Neiman Marcus, Dallas, USA:
I really liked the layout for this edition because of its strong and creative impact. Pitti Bimbo is not a classical fair anyway; it always offers lots of artistic ideas. For me it represents the true start of the season, a great opportunity for understanding which will be the key trends. I was particularly interested in the big companies in the Main Pavilion but I adore visiting the whole fair, it felt even richer this time! And I really appreciated the energy of the new fashion district represented by KidzFIZZ, #Activelab and The Nest!
Jamie Lee, Brand Manager, Boon Jr, Seoul:
I have been taking part in Pitti Bimbo with my team for over ten years and I can say that the fair has always maintained a very high level. It is the only fair in the world to incorporate a balanced mixture of big brands and new names on the childrenswear scene, all accompanied by an absolutely perfect organization. For us it is very important to take part in order to discover the trends for the new season and the direction the market is following. Among the sections I like best I should mention KidZFIZZ and Apartment, dedicated to experimentation and the most contemporary brands.
Kajsa Torstensson, Fashion Category Baby Shop, Stockholm:
Pitti Bimbo continues to improve at every edition! Everything is well planned; the great amount of effort put into the excellent organization is evident. I was interested in all segments of the childrenswear world, from clothing to accessories and I found several stimulating contemporary brands especially in the KidzFIZZ area, very much in line with the style of our store.
Mindi Smith, founder, Little Red Planet, e-store, New York:
This was my first time at Pitti Bimbo and it was wonderful! From the organization to the layout great care was taken with every detail. I like the segmentation of the product, it is an aspect that helps both us buyers, because it makes it easier to get our bearings, as well as the exhibiting companies that can position themselves as well as possible. I was a fashion stylist for almost 18 years before opening Little Red Planet and this has influenced my buying method: I follow my instinct and my need to tell a story through the brands I choose. I have only one rule, I select companies that care about the planet with a strong environmentally sustainable identity. I found all this at Pitti Bimbo, especially in the KidzFIZZ and Apartment sections with their brands that have an ethical and original soul. I was really satisfied!
Molly Price, founder, Molly Meg, London:
I had already taken part in Pitti Bimbo as a journalist, but this is my first time in the role of buyer. The fair is very well done, easy to understand and it offers places in which to relax and exchange ideas with other members of the trade. It has a truly international visibility and the layout is very stimulating. The sections I liked the most include KidzFizz and Apartment along with their catwalk shows, really exciting! The layout of Unduetrestella was also very attractive and the part of the Editorials on the lower level of the Main Pavilion.
Suzanne Verstegen, proprietor, Meet Mister Fred, online store, Leeuwarden, Netherlands:
This is the first time I have taken part in Pitti Bimbo and I was really surprised. It’s a wonderful fair! The way it is divided into different areas makes it very well organized and simple to visit, the atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant, molto friendly! I was especially interested in emerging and experimental brands, so the sections I appreciated the most were KidzFIZZ, The Nest and Apartment. I liked the catwalk shows: apart from the really stunning location, seeing the garments worn is very useful for us buyers!
Andrea Gould, Childrenswear Buyer, David Jones, Richmond, Australia:
It is incredible to see so many brands at one time and the fact that the companies are grouped into sections greatly facilitates the buyer’s work. I really liked KidzFIZZ: an area dedicated to stimulating research that is simple to visit. The show was both funny and professional! The layout of Apartment was very beautiful; I found it to be suitable for the boutique brands it hosts. I was interested in both emerging and experimental brands, in the collections for special occasions I found in the Main Pavilion, alongside other companies that take your breath away! An aspect we care a lot about is the attention to sustainability and I am pleased to see that companies are espousing this cause: the brands have an increasingly ethical philosophy and for us this is a fundamental prerogative.
Andrea Bonecco, Childrenswear Buyer, La Rinascente, Milan:
Pitti Bimbo is a really well organized fair. We took part in the event with precise objectives, the childrenswear segment is offering us a margin for expansion and here we have found various interesting solutions. I really liked the KidzFIZZ and Apartment sections as well as the Main Pavilion where there are many companies we already work with. One of the trends I felt the most was the great attention to sustainability that we have focused on in our stores for a long time and I am pleased to see it is being increasingly shared by the brands.
