BIG BRANDS FOR CHILDREN PROTAGONISTI A PITTI BIMBO 88

“Mini-me” inspirations and co-branding, striking settings and a global mood. At Pitti Bimbo 88, the big brands show off tradition and creativity, ecological awareness and the desire to amaze. Starting with Roberto Cavalli presenting – for next summer – a junior capsule collection, in collaboration with the Cracking Art movement. Cute animals in pop colours stand out on T- shirts and sweatshirts, while the works themselves are dressed with the Tiger Twiga print, in a cross-contamination.

Stella Jean mixes traditions and cultures from the five continents in a collection that is an ode to multiculturalism: masculine fabrics combined with tribal patterns, waves reminiscent of Japanese prints, the policeman from the story of Pinocchio and, again, the “Rooster”, a distinctive element of all the designer’s collections. Set in an enchanted forest with giant mushrooms and stuffed toy rabbits, the offerings from Dolce and Gabbana are perfect mini-me inspirations: jacquard and heraldic print for the baby outfits. Organza, chiffon and poplin for the fabrics for elegant dresses, with the sunflower and animal print themes standing out.

Philosophy by Lorenzo Serafini, on his second collection presented at Pitti, reveals garments for special occasions and offerings for every day. Making their return are logoed knitwear, sweatshirt mini-dresses and lurex and zebra stripes for the evening. From newborn to teen, Miss Blumarine’s offerings stand out thanks to the variety of styles. Lots of white and pink for the smallest sizes. Yellow for the sports line. And then elegant prints, tartans and soft, colourful coats.

The Marc Jacobs collection is decidedly urban: large prints, lots of black and red, bright gold accessories, streetstyle mini-dresses for her and bomber jackets for him. Marcelo Burlon presents an interstellar journey through sweatshirts and T-shirts. From Mars, the red planet, to the Earth, to then continue towards surfaces covered with ice. Prints all over the garment or paired with other subjects such as the iconic angel wings that distinguish the brand, and like wild animals in danger of extinction, which mark the collaboration with the WWF.

“White out” is the name of the collection from Paolo Pecora, with a focus on mountains, snow and evolutions in snowboarding: from iconic garments such as jackets with large pockets to snippets of patterns from cross-country ski jerseys. Military style is back in the cargo pants in plain fleece or with the classic camouflage pattern.
