Peach Applesauce

Peaches and apples, it’s a great combination. Both have low sugars, taste great and contribute to your child health. So try this simple recipe, buy the ingredients yourself. Smart thing is to buy organic fruits for healthier meal.

  Ingredients for 12 servings:

5 Fuji or Gala apples, peeled, cored, and chopped

1 cup skinned and chopped peaches

¼ cup apple or white grape juice

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

2 tablespoons turbinado sugar (optional)

STEP 1. First combine all the ingredients in a large pot and bring to a boil.

STEP 2. Cook them on medium to high heat for about 10–15 minutes, do this until the fruit is tender, stirring occasionally.

STEP 3. Mash them with a potato masher until a coarse texture is reached. For a smooth consistency, put the mixture in a blender for 30–60 seconds.

STEP 4. Serve warm or chilled. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 1 month.
